Peace of Mind Program
Pets are a part of your family. So, it’s perfectly natural, and very responsible, to plan now for your pet’s future. Through the Peace of Mind Program, you can assure yourself that your pet will continue to receive loving, compassionate care if the pet outlives you.
There are two steps to the Peace of Mind Program. ![]()
If you choose to include the gift in a will, you'll want to make arrangements to include the Peace of Mind Program in that document. The will provision provides the funding necessary to support this program as part of the Humane Society's mission to provide shelter, aid and responsible adoptions to animals entrusted to our care. If your pets are left orphaned in the future, the Peace of Mind Program will work to place the pets in appropriate new homes, and then will cover basic annual veterinary expenses for the animals. However, to be placed for adoption, the pet must be examined by our veterinary staff and deemed to be of good health and temperament.
The will provision must be significant, but the funding does not need to come to the Humane Society until the pets are in need of the program’s services. Funding beyond what is required to cover the costs associated with the program will support related areas that provide quality care for homeless animals, enhance our ability to find them homes, and educate the community about respect and kindness toward all animals.
