The 33019 and 33020 zip codes in the
City of Hollywood are the target areas for Broward County Animal Care
and Regulation’s “trap-neuter-release” (TNR) pilot
project. The project is being funded by a $30,000 grant received through
PetSmart Charities.
Residents in those areas who feed and care for feral cats can have the cats spayed or neutered and vaccinated for rabies, free of charge. Cats will also have an ear clipped as a way to identify them as a member of a managed feral cat colony. The HSBC was selected as one of the organizations that will provide the surgeries. Residents who live within the 33019 and 33020 communities may humanely trap the cats and bring them to the Humane Society mobile unit located at the shelter. Cats that have been trapped in carriers may be dropped off between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays; they may be picked up later the same day. No appointment is necessary. If you have questions, call our spay/neuter department at 954-463-7729. Residents must prove they reside in the 33019 and
33020 areas of Hollywood by producing a valid driver’s license
and utility bill. Trap-Neuter-Release
