Adult Volunteer
Information
Thank you for considering joining the
Humane Society of Broward County Volunteer Program where more than
500 volunteers work towards improving the lives of homeless animals.
After you have selected one or more volunteer positions
that interest you, call the Volunteer
Services Department at
954.266.6814
to sign-up for a general volunteer orientation. One and a half hour-long
orientations are provided twice a month to prospective volunteers.
During these sessions, Humane Society of Broward County’s
philosophies will be explained and different volunteer positions
will be reviewed. At the end of the orientation, you will be asked
to schedule your personal interview with the Director of Volunteer
Services to answer any questions and to discuss your volunteer position
and necessary training. During this interview, you will be required
to complete an authorization form allowing HSBC to perform a multi-state
criminal background check. We do require at least a six month commitment
to our Volunteer Program.
If you are seeking to fulfill court
ordered community service hours, and if you are at least 18 years
old, you are not eligible for this program. Please call 954.266.6868
for more information.
